Linda Longstreth
Marion County has always been more than a place on a map for Linda; it's home. It’s where she was raised, where she built her life, and where she has spent decades serving the people and communities she loves.
Linda believes representation starts with knowing the people you serve, listening to them, and never forgetting who sent you there.
A Soldier's Commitment
Linda Longstreth believes public service is both a responsibility and a promise to the people you represent.
Born and raised in Mannington, Linda earned her bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State College and her master’s degree from West Virginia University. She went on to serve her country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps—an experience that strengthened the values that have guided her throughout her life: service, responsibility, and looking out for the people beside you.
Linda carried those values home to Marion County. She worked with the West Virginia Department of Human Services and later served as administrator of the OIC Training Academy, helping women gain the skills and training they needed to begin careers in medical and dental assisting.
A Public Servant's Experience
Linda served 16 years in the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing Marion County and working on the issues that matter close to home—from strong public schools and workers’ rights to veterans, seniors, and rural communities.
Her committee assignments reflected those priorities. Linda served on Finance, Political Subdivisions, Senior Citizen Issues, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security, gaining experience with both the state budget and the decisions that directly affect local communities.
And as a veteran herself, Linda made sure West Virginia’s veterans had someone in the room who understood that service—and the responsibility we have to those who served—firsthand.
A Real Voice for District 75
Linda left the Legislature to run for Marion County Commission because she wanted to make a difference closer to home—to solve problems, strengthen communities, and build something lasting in our own backyards. She now serves on the Marion County Commission and was selected as Commission President in 2026.
Throughout her career, Linda has brought the same qualities to public service that guided her military service: preparation, responsibility, compassion, and a commitment to getting the job done.
Linda believes Charleston needs a reality check.
West Virginia has serious challenges that demand action. But too much time is spent on political theater and culture-war distractions, while the issues that determine whether our communities can grow and thrive get pushed aside.
And after serving in local government, Linda has seen the consequences firsthand. When Charleston takes authority away from local communities and chips away at local decision-making, it makes it harder for the people closest to the problems to solve them.
District 75 deserves a representative who understands that communities—not partisan agendas—should have a real voice in shaping their own future.
Linda knows Charleston. She knows local government. And she knows the people of Marion County, she knows home.
That’s the voice she’s bringing back to Charleston.
