Linda supports tax relief that helps working families, strengthens local businesses, and creates good jobs here at home.
But she believes tax cuts and incentives should come with accountability—and shouldn't come at the expense of our schools, first responders, infrastructure, or the local services our communities depend on.
Tax Relief for Working Families
Voted for HB 2014, taking key authority over qualifying data centers and microgrids away from counties and cities and creating a special state-controlled property-tax distribution system.
Data Centers
Voted for HB 3412 to exempt the Legislature from the Freedom of Information Act and let lawmakers set their own rules for public access to legislative records.
Supported the 2025 House rules that eliminated the public’s right to request a public hearing on legislation—taking away a longstanding way for West Virginians to make their voices heard before a bill becomes law.
Government Transparency
Led the push for the constitutional amendment that became Amendment 2, giving Charleston lawmakers new power to eliminate property taxes on business machinery, equipment, inventory, and vehicles—revenue traditionally relied on by county governments, schools, and local services.

Linda’s commitment to veterans comes from personal experience. As an Army Reserve veteran, she understands that our responsibility to those who served doesn’t end when they come home.
In the Legislature, Linda turned that commitment into action—working to expand employment opportunities and benefits for veterans, improve access to health care for military reservists, support Veterans Treatment Courts, and recognize veterans on West Virginia driver’s licenses.

Linda knows public education from the inside. As an educator, she believes strong schools start with supporting the students, teachers, and communities they serve.
Protect locally governed public schools and keep education decisions close to home.
Modernize school funding, invest in special-needs students, and provide competitive salaries and reliable PEIA benefits for educators.
Require transparency and responsible guardrails for Hope Scholarship dollars.

& Accountability
Linda believes public safety and personal privacy can—and should—go hand in hand. New surveillance technology needs clear rules that protect both.
Require meaningful safeguards for warrantless surveillance and the use of automated license plate readers like Flock cameras.
Set clear limits on how long citizens’ information can be stored, who can access it, and when it can be shared with other agencies.
Protect the public’s right to know how government uses surveillance technology—and hold agencies accountable when those protections are violated.

Linda believes strong communities depend on the basics—and lasting progress takes persistence, cooperation, and a willingness to do the work, whether anyone is watching or not.
